Interventionist

Raven comes to Change Inc with a Masters Degree in Social Work with a concentration in individual and family therapy. With over five years experience working with high-risk populations struggling with addiction, trauma, and mental health challenges, she brings this experience and dedication into her recovery work. Raven herself has been in in recovery since 2007 and approaches addiction and recovery-based work through a harm reduction lens, focusing on strengths and evidence-based practices.

Raven is a bi-lingual native New Yorker, her diverse professional background includes working with state legislators and city council members to improve the quality of program funding for homeless youth and mentally ill homeless populations, marketing, event planning, social work, and outreach coordinator roles. She works collaboratively with support teams and family members to foster holistic healing, helping people move through their addiction and into recovery. She also has extensive experience working with failure to launch clients, who have yet to realize their full potential in life, in a transitional housing setting. In this role she has provided one-on-one therapy and coaching, as well as helping to develop life skills materials for individuals. Above all, Raven utilizes her experience to empower and inspire the people with whom she works.

Working with family systems modalities that honor the family unit as a whole, with each part of the whole affecting the others, Raven helps families to identity and honor the past, while walking through the recovery process learning, stretching and growing together.

Currently, her passion project is www.TakeFido.org where she recruits emergency foster homes for pets of those seeking to leave domestic violence situations.

“As a clinician, I use my extensive experience working with at-risk populations to compassionately connect with those who are struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders,” says Raven. “Over the years I have had the opportunity to witness the resilience of individuals and families coping with various addictions. I have worked closely with interdisciplinary teams to help create a bridge for those who suffer, helping them move from hopelessness to empowerment. Being in my own long-term recovery, I am invested in seeing my clients succeed and lead self-sustaining happy lives.”
